The appearance of A/H1N1 virus in rural and remote areas has been confirmed, the Preventive Medicine and Environment Department said on September 11.

Everyone, including those living in rural, mountainous and remote areas must go to a medical centre if they show any signs of the flu, the department recommended.

Among the victims of the flu, some of the fatalities were from remote areas, it said.

According to the department, 118 more cases of the flu were reported on September 11, bringing the total number of A/H1N1 cases in Vietnam to 4,383, of which 3,350 have been discharged from hospital.

On the same day, Head of the National Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh, said that A/H1N1 has not yet developed into different strains./.
