A delegation of Algerian lawmakers led by National People’s Assembly (NPA) Chairman Abdelaziz Ziari visited the northern coast province of Quang Ninh on Jan. 21.

At the reception talks the same day, the provincial People’s Committee Chairman Vu Duc Dam briefed the delegation on the province’s socio-economic achievements as well as its potential, especially in the mining and tourism industries.

Quang Ninh, Dam said, has set a target of becoming an industrialised province by 2015 and is working up the combined determination and efforts of the whole political system so as to promote socio-economic development, ensure social welfare, and create favourable conditions to attract foreign direct investment.

The chairman expressed the wish that Vietnam-Algeria relations would be tightened in the future.

In response, Ziari praised the province’s recent attainments in all fields, expressing his wish that the traditional friendship and relations between Algerian and Vietnamese people would be further cemented.

Later the same day, the Algerian NPA Chairman and his entourage made a tour of Ha Long Bay and came back to Hanoi to continue their week-long visit./.
