The Algerian Embassy in Hanoi on Mar. 8 laid a wreath on the memorial to 15 reporters and technicians who died 38 years ago in an aircrash accident in Hanoi ’s outlying Soc Son district.

At the ceremony, Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Chérif Chikhi recalled the memory of the journalists and technicians’ deaths when an aircraft accompanying former Algerian President Houari Boumediene exploded on Mar. 8, 1974.

A memorial monument for the accident victims was built during the visit of the contemporary Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Oct. 16, 2010.

On this occasion, Ambassador Chérif Chikhi expressed his belief that Vietnam-Algeria cooperation and friendship will develop in all fields.-VNA
