On March 8, officials and staff of the Algerian Embassy in Vietnam laid a wreath at a memorial to commemorate 15 Algerian journalists who died 39 years ago in Hanoi’s Soc Son district.

Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Cherif Chikhi said that on March 8, 1974, the journalists accompanying the late Algerian President Houari Boumedience to Vietnam died in an airplane accident.

The memorial to the victims was inaugurated during Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s visit to Vietnam in October 2000.

On this occasion, the diplomat expressed his belief that the two countries’ cooperation and friendship will continue developing in various fields.-VNA
