New York (VNA) – Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), visited the permanent missions of Laos and Cambodia to the UN to deliver his best wishes on the occasion of the two nations’ traditional New Year festivals Bunpimay and Chol Chnam Thmay.

Hosting the Vietnamese diplomat, Lao Ambassador Anouparb Vongnorkeo lauded the close and effective collaboration between the two delegations at the UN and in the implementation of the countries’ bilateral agreements in line with the Vietnam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.

Meanwhile, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the UN Sophea Eat expressed his gratitude for Vietnam’s support for his nation in different historical periods and his delight at the sound growth of the countries’ good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation so far, particularly in trade and at multilateral forums, including the ASEAN and UN.

On the same occasion, a delegation of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Champasak province of Laos visited to deliver Bunpimay greetings to the authorities and people in the four Lao southern localities of Champasak, Attapeu, Sekong and Salavanh. The delegation was joined by representatives of the Vietnamese business association and expatriate community in four localities.

The Consulate General officials and authorities of the Lao provinces agreed to further step up joint work across the fields, especially in the promotion of the localities’ cooperation with their Vietnamese partners and in investment attraction for socio-economic development./.
