Ancient temple affirms national sovereignty
The Xa Tac Temple Festival was held in Mong Cai city in the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 2 and 3. The national relic site is a cultural landmark affirming sovereignty over the easternmost region of the homeland.
Xa Tac Temple is located on the banks of the Ka Long River, which is the natural border between Vietnam and China, in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province. The ancient temple was built to worship the Land Genie and those who originally claimed the area, and now protects local people and blesses them with bumper harvests.
All of the rituals within the festival were held in accordance with safety regulations to avoid any spread of COVID-19.
Not only a typical cultural relic, Xa Tac is also an attractive spiritual tourism destination. Through many ups and downs, the temple has been recognised as a national relic, a sacred place affirming the country's sovereignty./.
