Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien will not be competing at the third stage of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Swimming World Cup in Hong Kong, China from September 25-26.

The information was released by the Vietnam Aquatic Sports Association (VASA) in Hanoi on September 25.

Dinh Viet Hung, Head of the VASA, said instead Vien will attend the 8th Asian Age Group Championships in Bangkok, Thailand from October 1-4.

The 19-year-old star swimmer will then fly to the Republic of Korea to compete in the sixth Military World Games from October 7-10.

Vien will return to the sixth stage of the Swimming World Cup in Tokyo, Japan on October 28.

Earlier, she competed in the first two stages of the Swimming World Cup and won one silver and two bronzes – Vietnam’s first medals at FINA Swimming World Cup events.-VNA
