Another case of influenza A/H1N1 has been detected in Ho Chi Minh City , said the Director of the city’s Healthcare Department, Dr. Nguyen Van Chau, on June 5.

The patient is a 25-year-old man who has just returned from Australia . He was subsequently hospitalised to City Hospital for Tropical Diseases on June 4 and tested positive for the A/H1N1 virus. He is currently waiting for a second test to be absolutely sure.

Before him, Vietnam has officially reported five cases of A/H1N1.

In addition, 11 people have been tested voluntarily at several hospitals. Four of them were negative to the virus and have returned home. Seven others are in isolation waiting for their test results. Two of them are under suspicion due to their close proximity to someone who has now been identified as being infected with the virus.

On June 5, eight passengers at HCM City ’s Tan Son Nhat Airport were detected as having high body temperatures, seven of them tested negative to the A/H1N1 virus while the remaining one is still waiting for the test results./.
