Nghe An (VNA) – A reticulated python weighing more than two kilogrammes was realeased into the Pu Hoat Nature Reserve in Que Phong district, the central province of Nghe An, on June 6.
It was in stable condition when it returned to the nature.
A man from Na Cay village, Tien Phong commune, found the reptile tangled in a fishing net and then decided to inform the local authority and hand it over to the Que Phong forest protection division on June 5.
On June 3, another reticulated python weighing about six kilogrammes was also reintroduced to the Pu Hoat Natural Reserve. A local voluntarily handed over the animal to authorities after buying it from a market and later learning that the python is a rare species needing strict protection.
