Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese technology Be Group Corporation on December 13 launched its riding-hailing platform, with BeBike and BeCar services.

The firm plans to launch its operations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on December 17.

Be Group announced at the launching ceremony that it expects to provide services in 15 cities and provinces in 2019 before expanding across the country the next year.

The company targets 6.6 million app downloads in 2019 and aims to add further features such as e-wallet, delivery and reward programmes.

Unlike other app operators, including Grab and FastGo, Be Group has registered as a transportation business.

The company has announced initially its drives will pay the firm 25 percent of each fare.

Vietnam’s ride-hailing market has seen new entrants after Uber’s acquisition by the market leader Grab early this year, including Vietnamese firm FastGo, GoViet - a subsidiary of Indonesia’s Go-Jek, Aber and the latest Be Group.-VNA
