Secretary of the municipal Party CommitteeTruong Quang Nghia said since the organisation of the APEC Economic Leaders’Week is a big opportunity to make the city further known by the world, localrelevant agencies are swiftly completing preparations.
Located in the downtown area of Da Nang, HaiChau district is focusing all resources on ensuring urban order and environmenton key roads serving the Week. Authorised forces have been carrying out regularexaminations, even on Saturdays and Sundays, to raise public awareness of lawadherence.
Meanwhile, Son Tra district, a tourist magnetand a venue of many events during the Week, has paid attention to improvingcommunication skills for tourism workers. Inspection teams have also been sentto examine goods and services sold in this district.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department ofTourism Nguyen Xuan Binh said Son Tra is a tourism hub of the city with over250 hotels and 100 other accommodation establishments. Therefore, the regularupdate of knowledge will help raise the awareness of tourism officials andworkers. The district is also stepping up communications to encourage residentsto be ready to welcome guests with their hospitality.
The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week is scheduled totake place in Da Nang from November 6 to 11. The event will bring togetheraround 10,000 delegates from 21 APEC member economies.
