Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) Do Ba Ty has suggested that the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Mexico tighten cooperation through the exchange of visits and sharing of experience. 

The Vice Chairman made the proposal at a reception in Hanoi on January 19 for a delegation of the Mexican Parliament led by Chairman of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee for the Asia-Pacific region, Senator Teofilo Torres Corzo, who are in Vietnam for the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26). 

Ty reiterated that Vietnamese people always treasure the friendship and solidarity that Mexican people has given for Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and in the current national development.

He congratulated the guests on their nation’s socio-economic development over the past time, adding that the two nations have huge room for cooperation in numerous fields, including agro-forestry-fishery products processing, science - technology, health, education - training, and climate change adaption.

Sharing the view with Ty on the need to increase parliamentary delegation exchanges at all levels between the two nations, Senator Teofilo Torres Corzo called on the two sides to support each other at international organisations and multi-faceted forums.

He expressed his hope that the two nations will increase their investment partnership in their strong fields, contributing to fostering their friendship and cooperation.-VNA
