The Arsenal first team will play a friendly match with Vietnam’s national football squad at My Dinh stadium in Hanoi on July 17 this year.

The match is part of Arsenal’s pre-season Asia tour 2013, said marketing director Angus Kinnear at a press briefing in Hanoi on March 5.

The first team of Arsenal, one of the most successful English Premier League clubs, is scheduled to arrive in Vietnam on July 15 after finishing a pre-season match in Jakarta, Indonesia.

According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation Le Hung Dung, the team and its coaching board will take part in charitable activities in Hanoi on July 16.

The two sides have agreed on issues on finance, accommodations, match venue, transportation, and security for the players and the match, said Arsenal chief commercial officer Tom Fox.

A deal on this match-playing visit in Vietnam will officially be inked in London in coming days, Tom added.-VNA
