Art festival concludes millennium celebrations

An art and cultural festival and firework displays in Hanoi on Oct. 10 concluded ten days of the capital city's millennium celebrations.
An art and cultural festival and firework displays that took place atthe My Dinh National Stadium on October 10 concluded ten days ofcelebrations for the Millennium of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The festival, entitled “Thang Long-Hanoi: City of Soaring Dragon”,reviewed major milestones in the history of the Vietnamese nation ingeneral and Hanoi in particular, including King Ly Cong Uan’s capitaltransfer in 1010, the Tran dynasty’s three victories over Chinese Mongolinvaders, King Le Loi’s sword return, President Ho Chi Minh with theIndependence Declaration, and Hanoi, the city for peace

The event drew the participation of nearly 7,000 artists, athletes and students of art and sports schools.

Notably, a set of 100 bronze drums casted by artisans from the centralprovince of Thanh Hoa was used during the festival./.

Intellectual cooperation deepens Vietnam–France relations: expert

Dr Frederic Roustan highlighted the importance of scientific and intellectual cooperation, saying that despite ups and downs in bilateral diplomatic, political and economic relations over the decades, connections between French and Vietnamese scientists and intellectuals have been maintained, contributing to exchanges between the two countries.

Ministry proposes seven-day 2027 Lunar New Year holiday

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal, civil servants and public employees in Vietnam would receive five statutory days off, including two days before and three days after the Lunar New Year. As two of those days fall on the weekend, they would receive two additional compensatory days off, bringing the total holiday to seven consecutive days.

Vietnam’s hiring outlook to see strong growth in Q4

In Vietnam, among 285 businesses surveyed, 52% expected to increase hiring in Q4, 16% planned to reduce hiring, while 32% intended to maintain their current workforce levels, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey.

‘Small bricks’ help strengthen Vietnam-France ties

Dr. Gildas Tréguier, Secretary-General of the France-Vietnam Health Federation (FSFV), said the visit comes as Vietnam is opening further to the world and entering a new stage of development, creating greater demand for experience sharing and closer cooperation with international partners, including France.
