Artworks dating from the 1930s to the 1970s on exhibit

More than 100 artworks created by some of the country's most outstanding artists between the 1930s and 1970s are being exhibited at the HCM City Museum of Fine Arts.
More than 100 artworks created by some of the country's most outstanding artists between the 1930s and 1970s are being exhibited at the HCM City Museum of Fine Arts.

The exhibition showcases paintings, sketches and drafts in diverse materials and styles created by 35 artists, including To Ngoc Van, Bui Xuan Phai, and Tran Van Can.

The paintings reflect Vietnam 's historical events and the life of its people during that time, as well as the artists' concerns about the changes occurring in the country.

All of the exhibits belong to Thai collector Tira Vanichtheeranont, who began collecting Vietnamese paintings in 2009.

The exhibition will run until October 14 at the museum at 97A Pho Duc Chinh street in District 1./.
