Vietnam will host the Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO) for the second time in Hanoi from November 30-December 4.

At a seminar on October 21 before the conference, the 28 th CAFEO, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) said that 500 engineering professionals working in various industries from the ten member organisations of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations will attend the event.

The World Engineering Federation, the ASEAN Engineering and Technology Academy, engineering organisations from the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, India, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, and others, as well as institutions and businesses will also send representatives to the conference.

This year, the conference will focus on the theme “Engineering and Technology for a Better Quality of Life in Response to Climate Change”.

It will include five main topics, including Engineering and Technology used in the Construction of Buildings and Infrastructure; Environmental Engineering and Technology; Energy, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology; Education and Training of Engineering; and Engineering and Technology for Health, Safety and Management.

Among the other activities at the event will be an exhibition of new scientific and technological researches and products made by the participating countries as well as visits to major project sites and manufacturers in Hanoi and its surrounding provinces.

CAFEO 28 will also honour engineers and professionals who have contributed to the engineering sector. It is an annual event, hosted alternately by each ASEAN country. Vietnam has been attending CAFEO since 1995 and hosted the 18 th CAFEO in 2000./.
