ASEAN Foreign Ministers have agreed to set up a working group to discuss the drafting of a Code of Conduct (COC) of Parties in the East Sea, a Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
FM spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi made the statement in answer to a Vietnam News Agency reporter’s question on ASEAN’s establishment of a group to compile the COC, at the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s regular briefing in Hanoi on Oct. 6.
The spokesman said to implement the ASEAN leaders’ decision reached at the 18th ASEAN Summit, the agreement was reached at the informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the sidelines of the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sept. 24, 2011./.
