The Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) in ASEAN convened a meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on August 1 to prepare for the 48th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM 48) and related meetings which will be organised from August 1 to 6.
The AMM 48 plenary session will focus on issues regarding the establishment of the ASEAN Community in late 2015 and the progress of the ASEAN Community’s Post- 2015 Vision, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the regional architecture and the bloc’s foreign relations.
AMM 48 will be followed by several related meetings, including the 16 th ASEAN Plus Three Foreign Ministers Meeting (APT FMM 16) with the three partners of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the 5th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers Meeting (EAS FMM 5).
The 22nd ASEAN Regional Forum (22nd ARF), taking place on August 6, will concentrate on regional and international political and security issues.-VNA
