Jakarta (VNA) - Registration for media agencies that seek to cover the 42nd ASEASN Summit, slated to take place in mid-May in Indonesia, will open on April 1, 2023.

According to Indonesian Communication and Informatics Ministry’s Public Information and Communication Director General Usman Kansong, information concerning the first ASEAN summit under the Indonesian chair this year will be delivered in detail to reporters through a media advisory unit.

The ASEAN Summit will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, on May 9-11, 2023. The ministry estimated that 300-500 reporters from 10 ASEAN member countries will cover the summit.

During last week’s press conference, Kansong said that the government will prepare the formation of a special agency to help the media receive a complete press statement concerning the 2023 ASEAN activities held in Indonesia.

To provide public communication access, Kansong said the ministry will provide a special website that contains Indonesian Chairmanship activities in 2023 at ASEAN2023.id.

The website managed by the Informatics and Communication Directorate General will provide content in the form of news articles, photos, infographics to videos related to 2023 ASEAN./.
