Philippine Undersecretary for Social Welfare and Development Alicia Dela Rosa Bala from the Philippines will assume her duty as Deputy Secretary General for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) for a new three-year tenure this week.
According to a press release issued by the ASEAN Secretariat on September 11, the ASEAN Coordinating Council approved the Philippine Government’s nomination of Alicia Bala as Deputy Secretary General for the ASCC.
She will assist the ASEAN Secretary General in providing the leadership and management of the ASCC, covering divisions of culture and information, youth training, social welfare, women, labour, migrant workers, environment, disaster management and humanitarian assistance, health and communicable diseases, and science and technology.-VNA
