ASEAN and its six dialogue partners will meet in the resort town of Hua Hin, Thailand, next month as scheduled, despite political disorder in the Southeast Asian country, a Thai official said on Sept. 21.

All of the leaders can attend the summit--10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its six dialogue partners, namely China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, Vitavas Srivihok, director of the Thai Foreign Ministry's ASEAN department, told media in Bangkok .

The upcoming summit will discuss issues including a feasibility study for free trade cooperation between ASEAN and its regional partners, according to Vitavas.

The ASEAN+6 summit was planned for April 11-12 in Pattaya, Thailand, but postponed due to anti-government protestors, who broke police barricades and entered the meeting area.

As per the new schedule, the ASEAN+6 summit will take place in Hua Hin from Oct. 23-25./.
