Dialogue was held in Nha Trang city in the southern province of Khanh
Hoa on August 11-12.
The dialogue, which was held for the first time in 2006, grew out of an agreement at the ASEAN-Japan Summit Meeting in 2004 and the ASEAN-Japan Joint Declaration for Cooperation to Combat International Terrorism in 2005.
Representatives of anti-terrorism agencies in 10 ASEAN countries and Japan, as well as officials from the ASEAN Secretariat attended the event.
Participants discussed ways to counter the menace in regional countries, signed off on cooperation projects to combat it, and introduced solutions to improve their capacity to reduce terrorist activity.
They also shared the view that they would make all efforts to eradicate terrorism in their countries, actively deal with threats and re-affirmed their cooperation on counter-measures./.
