ASEAN’s economic integration task force convenes

ASEAN’s High Level Task Force on Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) convened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 26-27 to prepare for the 42 nd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting (AEM-42) scheduled to take place in August in Danang.

The 18 th meeting under thechairmanship of Brunei Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and TradeLim Jock Hoi focused on issues related to economic integration in ASEAN,including structural and institutional reforms, trade policies andconnectivity initiatives in the region.

Inaddition, the meeting dealt with economic ties between ASEAN and outsidepartners as well as ASEAN’s efforts in maintaining its central role innewly-emerging economic architectures.

Theresults of this meeting and previous meetings will be submitted toAEM-42, said Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen CamTu, Head of the Vietnamese delegation at the meeting.

AEM-42 is one of the important preparations for the 17 th ASEANSummit scheduled to take place in Hanoi at the end of this year./.

Party official, JICA President discuss expanding leadership training cooperation

Vietnam suggested JICA continue implementing a leadership capacity-building project for 2026–2028, aligned with Vietnam’s development priorities and four new pillars of bilateral cooperation - AI, digital transformation, smart cities and high-tech infrastructure; high-quality human resource development and institutional reform; green and circular economy development and disaster prevention; and social welfare, health care, elderly care and private-sector development.
