Brussels (VNA) –
President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in held talks with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha in Brussels, Belgium on October 19 on the sidelines of the ongoing Asia-European Meeting (ASEM) Summit.

At the talks, the two sides agreed to further develop bilateral ties and seek joint business projects, including the development of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor and the reform programme Thailand 4.0.

The Thai PM expressed his support for the RoK President’s New Southern Policy, which aims to enhance diplomatic and economic relations between Seoul and the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

He pledged that ASEAN will continue backing the RoK’s efforts in denuclearization and establishment of long-term peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The two sides also agreed to boost cooperation at the RoK-ASEAN conference next year, which marks 30 years since the bilateral dialogue mechanism kicked off and Thailand’s assumption of ASEAN chairmanship.-VNA
