Hanoi (VNA) – The Asia-Europe New Music Festival will take place from November 24-27 in Hanoi and the northern province of Ninh Binh.

The information was released by Chairman of the Vietnamese Musicians’ Association Do Hong Quan at a press conference in Hanoi on November 2.

The festival will operate as an art forum, showcasing Vietnam’s recent achievements in new music and introducing local musicians and their works to international friends, he said.

The event will help foreign musicians and artists gain insight into the land, people, culture, and traditional music of Vietnam, contributing to consolidating the sound relations between Vietnamese artists and their foreign colleagues.

More than 200 artists and musicians from over 30 countries worldwide will perform in different genres of music, such as symphonies, chamber music, and choirs.

The opening ceremony will be held on November 24 night at the Hanoi Opera House followed by a concert under the baton of conductors Honna Tetsuji from Japan and Zoe Zeniodi from Greece.

The festival will conclude with a concert on the evening November 24 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

The biennial event was first held in 2014. –VNA
