Bui Thi Thu Thao on September 29 took a silver medal in the women’s long-jump event at the ongoing 17th Asian Games (ASIAD) in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

Thao recorded her personal best of 6.44m at the third attempt against the first of 6.35m.

Londa Natalia of Indonesia took the gold medal with 6.55m while Jiang Yanfei of China carried off the bronze with 6.34m.

This is the second medal for Vietnam’s track-and-field team at ASIAD 17. The first silver was carried off by Quach Thi Lan on September 28 in the women's 400m event with a time of 52.06 seconds.

Vietnam has so far won one gold, nine silver and 20 bronze medals. China leads with 112 gold medals, followed by the Republic of Korea with 44 and Japan with 35.-VNA
