Representatives of the Institute of Energy and Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute attended the third roundtable conference of the Forum on Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA).

At the two-day conference that ended on July 6, participants expressed their special concern on Vietnamese representatives’ presentation on Vietnam’s projects to build two nuclear power plants in cooperation with Russia’s ROSATOM and Japan’s JINED.

Dr Akrra Omoto from the Japan Atomic Energy Agency spoke about his country’s Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant incidant and its impact on the environment, as well as the role of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in safe development of nuclear energy.

The conference also discussed nuclear energy development projects and programmes in Asia, training of human resources for nuclear power plants and issues of concern and cooperation within the framework of FNCA./.
