Asian people council debuts in France
The high-level council of Asian people in France (HCAF) has made its debut in Paris with a view to promoting the unity and integration of the Asian community in the host country.

However, Asian people are quite reserved when it comes to politics and they rarely take part in political activities, he said, adding that the council is to enable the Asian community to get their voice heard in residential areas, the government and the media.
President of the Vietnamese business association in France (ABVietFrance) Nguyen Hai Nam, a member of the HCAF executive committee, told reporters from the Vietnam News Agency that the council aims to encourage Asian-French to play a more active role in economic, political and social affairs in France.
He noted that the Vietnamese community forms the second biggest Asian community in France after Chinese, and has long-standing relations with the European country.
He said he hopes through the council, he could introduce the Vietnamese community’s remarkable contributions to the French society, the France-Vietnam relationship and Vietnam’s diplomatic policies to French friends.
A workshop highlighting Asian migrants’ success and difficulties in France was held on the same day. Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son and a number of overseas Vietnamese attended the event.-VNA
