The 60th Meeting and Conference of the Eastern Region Organisation for Public Administration (EROPA) will be held in Hanoi from October 19-24, announced the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) at a press briefing in on October 14.

Minister of Home Affairs Tran Anh Tuan, head of the conference’s Steering Committee, said that this year’s theme of “Public Administration and Governance in the Context of Regional and Global Integration” is crucial for ASEAN to build a united, dynamic and wealthy community in 2015.

During the conference, EROPA members will share innovative approaches and practices to public administration in the Asia-Pacific region in a bid to tackle challenges in the era of regional integration, he added.

This is the third time the NAPA hosts the annual conference, following those in 1997 and 2005.

The EROPA, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, aims to boost socio-economic development in the region through cooperation on theoretical research and development, system reform and best practices in the field of public administration and governance.

It acts as a platform to exchange information and innovative approaches for effective and transparent governance.

EROPA comprises 10 member states, 58 institutions, universities and organizations, and 229 individuals.-VNA
