Attractive activities gear up for int’l fireworks tourney

The central city of Da Nang will hold an array of cultural, sports and tourism activities as a welcome to the 2013 Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC 2013) slated for April 29-30.

Apart from annual activities such as floating flower garlands andcolourful lanterns and boat procession on Han River, street musicperformances and displays of souvenirs and stone statues, visitors willhave a chance to attend an exhibition entitled “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa:historical evidence”, a sea festival and a national Hiphop exchange aswell as enjoy famous dishes of Vietnam and other foreign countries.

With the aim to bring fresh experience to arrivals, the municipaltourism sector in coordination with travel agencies has launched severalnew special tours, particularly a tour of the Hue-Da Nang-Hoi Ancentral heritage road and a programme exploring Da Nang, Son Tra andCu Lao Cham by helicopter.

Major hotels will also offer room price reductions and hold outdoor parties for visitors during this occasion.

Especially, an international cultural and culinary festival will takeplace for the first time in Da Nang from April 27-30 with the aim tointroduce cultural identities and cuisines of DIFC participatingcountries, including the US, Russia, Japan, Italy and Vietnam, to localpeople and tourists.

There will be a common culturalspace where visitors can explore the cultures of the five countriesthrough photos and products depicting their cultural and spirituallives.

The festival will also include cultural andartistic activities such as festivals featuring Japan’s tea drinkingand Origami paper folding arts, calligraphic contests as well aspainting and photo exhibitions.

At night, visitors will enjoy art performances and shows of the five countries’ traditional costumes.-VNA

The standout achievement came in the Sanda (combat) events, where Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien claimed gold medals after impressive victories over opponents from China and Hong Kong (China), respectively.
