The average salary for a labourer at enterprises increased by 6.5 percent in 2009 over the previous year, according to the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The average salary for a labourer in foreign-invested businesses registered the highest increase of all, up 7.8 percent to 2.6 million VND (140 USD) a month.
