Bac Giang city in the northern province of the same name will continue to undertake measures to support businesses and investors in an effort to boost production and meet the targets of its 2011-2015 economic development plan.

The city aims to implement infrastructure projects to develop road systems, supermarkets, trade centres and hotels.

The local authorities will enhance the management of markets, products and prices; protect consumers’ rights; attract investment in industrial complexes; create stable jobs in incomes for local residents; and develop traditional professions.

Additionally, the city will also focus on building new style rural areas and developing large-scale cultivation areas that meet the Vietnamese Good Agriculture Practice ( VietGap) standards.

According to the plan, the agricultural production value target is set at 100 billion VND (4.7 million USD) per hectare per year, while the poverty rate is to drop to below 1.5 percent.

By 2015, the city expects to record an economic growth rate of 17.5-18.5 percent, with a focus on trade, services, industry, small-scale industry and construction.-VNA
