Bac Giang (VNA) – A culture, tourism and tradeweek opened in the northern province of Bac Giang on October 5, attracting theparticipation of more than 500 businesses.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Duong Van Thai, who is also Chairman of the Business Association ofBac Giang, said the first-ever event aims to mark the 15th VietnameseEntrepreneurs’ Day (October 13) and promote cultural, tourism and trading activitiesin the locality. 

It is also an occasion for local firms and craftvillages to popularise their brands, introduce products and seek business andinvestment partnerships, he noted.

The week, taking place in Bac Giang city untilOctober 12, features a wide range of activities such as trade and investmentpromotion workshops, contract signing between domestic and foreign businesses,and dissemination of the Law on Support of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises.

An automobile, motorcycle and bicycleexhibition, a fair with 250 booths, along with activities to introduce the TayYen Tu spiritual and ecological tourism complex also form part of the event.

Local authorities reported that nearly 900businesses have been set up in Bac Giang province since the beginning of 2019,up 6.5 percent year on year, raising the number of companies here to over9,100. The local nine-month industrial production value approximated 153.6trillion VND (6.6 billion USD), up 31.3 percent./.
