The northern province of Bac Giang has introduced number of measures to speed up vocational training and job creation for rural laborers, according to Truong Duc Huan, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

Improving the quality and productivity of laborers in the agricultural sector, creating new occupations, and developing on-the-spot training services are a few to name in order to meet the demand of other economic sectors and serve labour export.

Enterprises are encouraged to open on-the-field training courses to enable them to recruit qualified employees.
Over the past years, Bac Giang has paid due attention to offering vocational training for ethnic minorities, the poor, women, and people with disabilities.

However, insufficient fund, poor equipment and infrastructure and a lack of trainers have posed a challenge to the locality’s efforts.

In 2014, the province invested 17.97 billion VND (845,000 USD) in vocational training development project, including 5.3 billion VND (249,000 USD) for facilities.

It allocated over 14.9 billion VND (701,000 USD) to carry out vocational training projects for rural labourers.
Vocational centres in the province are currently providing training for 28,860 people and looking forward to training up to 29,780 labourers in 2015.-VNA
