The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union chapter in the northern province of Bac Giang presented 4,000 national flags, paintings and publications on sea and islands to soldiers and people in the Truong Sa archipelago at a ceremony on June 30.
The gifts were donated by local young people during a recent campaign.
Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, secretary of the chapter’s provincial committee, said the activity is part of the union’s efforts to raise public awareness of the country’s sea and island sovereignty.
She said the chapter will continue to educate local youngsters on the importance and potential of Vietnam’s sea and islands, and keep them updated about latest developments in the East Sea, as well as guide the youth in expressing their patriotism in the right way.-VNA
