Officials from northern Bac Ninh province are attending a training programme on public administration, leadership and human resources management, provided by Singapore.
At the opening ceremony of the course on October 13, Tran Van Tuy, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, said Bac Ninh has opted to study Singapore’s developmental experience since it embarked on a smart city development scheme.
Guo Sam Nan, Deputy Director of the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration under the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, which provided the course, said Bac Ninh is the second Vietnamese locality, after Quang Ninh, to have the bilateral cooperative programme with the centre.
Training areas cover public administration, public governance, leadership, human resources management and urban planning.
In addition, lectures on how to attract foreign investment and how to manage industrial parks will be on offer, participated not only by professors but also former government officials.
Site visits to difference governmental organisations will form part of the course, aiming to give Bac Ninh officials a comprehensive view of Singapore experience, Guo Sam Nan said.
The training programme, the second of its kind designed for Bac Ninh province, will end on October 17.
The Nanyang Centre for Public Administration trained 300 Vietnamese State, municipal and provincial officials over the past three years.-VNA
