According to a report posted on the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency’s website, the aircraft may have flied into storm cloud and its engine was likely to get frozen.

The plane crashed into the Java Sea on December 28 while en route from Indonesia's Surabaya to Singapore with 162 people on board, including 155 Indonesians, three Koreans, one Singaporean, one Malaysian, one French and one British.

As many as 14 aircraft and 26 naval ships from many countries are joining search and rescue efforts on January 4.

Thirty-one corpses have been recovered so far, 30 of which have been transported to Surabaya for identification.

Five big wreckages of the ill-fated plane have been discovered with the biggest measuring 18 metres in length. The flight recorder, popularly known as "black box", is yet to be found.-VNA
