Vietnam's badminton ace Nguyen Tien Minh has jumped two places to the eighth position in the world rankings, according to the Badminton World Federation.

Minh improved his position after winning the Ciputra Hanoi-Yonex Sunrise Vietnam International Challenge in late March.

He will fight for his second international title at the OUE Singapore Open to be held from April 8 to 13.

Minh, 31, gained his first title in badminton when he was 10 years old. His best position was world No. 5, recorded in 2010.-VNA
