The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has confirmed its readiness to play host to the Second Meeting of Governors/Mayors of ASEAN Capitals on November 4-6.

Wanlop Suwandee, Chief Adviser to the Bangkok Governor, said the meeting is an opportunity for leaders of ASEAN cities and other participants to share their views on the issues of city development cooperation.

It is expected to delegate roles to the participating cities to take part in developing the ASEAN Community in different aspects such as tourism, public disaster relief and technology development.

The BMA will constantly publicise results of the meeting and bring them into concrete actions before reporting their progress to the next meeting of Governors/Mayors of ASEAN Capitals.-VNA
