The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is building a new bike trail along the Nong Bon lake in a bid to celebrate Mother’s Day and Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday on August 12.

A 4km-long bike trail is being constructed in place of Bangkok’s old flood control centre.

The construction is set to be completed on June 30. Solar street lights, traffic signs and closed-circuit cameras will be installed along the trail.

A new gazebo will also be built and more landscaping will be undertaken before the big opening in July.

The BMA will also stage an exhibition displaying His Majesty the King’s sailing inventions and Her Majesty the Queen’s water-related project at the Nong Bon lake water sports centre.

As the new trail will replace an old flood control center, exhibitions on flood prevention measures and royal flood projects will also be set up.-VNA
