Bangkok (VNA) – Many residential areas in Bangkok, Thailand, were inundated on October 14 following a long overnight torrential rain.
According to Bangkok deputy governor Chakkaphan Phewngam, the total rainfall was estimated at about 203 mm, the highest level in the past 25 years.
Initial statistics showed that the capital had 55 heavily flooded spots. The local authorities sent an apology to residents for slow drainage of the massive flooding.
Thailand’s Meteorological Department forecast more rain to fall next week and recommended the locals prepare for worse scenarios.-VNA
