Governor Nguyen Van Binh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) met with the newly-appointed Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam, Eric Sidgwick, in Hanoi on September 14.

The Governor said that the Vietnamese Government and the SBV attach importance to developing comprehensive relations with ADB.

He expressed his hope that the ADB would continue providing policy consultancy, and technical assistance for Vietnam.

For his part, Sidgwick spoke of the policies conducted by the Vietnamese Government and the SBV to stabilise the macro-economy and boost economic growth.

The Director pledged to further strengthen ADB’s potential in the country, including financial resources, policy consultancy and technical assistance.

The two sides agreed to collaborate closely to efficiently utilise the annual 1.2 billion USD in ADB funding from 2016 to 2018.-VNA
