Belarus hopes to further cooperate with Vietnam, especially in the fields of telecommunications and high technology, a senior Belarusian official has said.

Ianchevsky Vsevolod, an advisor to the Belarusian President, made the remark at a meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on December 5.

The advisor affirmed Belarus will make every effort to realise the joint venture projects, adding that the country is willing to providing personnel training for Vietnam.

He said the relationship between the two countries and people will create favourable conditions for their cooperation projects in energy, education and high technology to be signed and implemented soon.

President Sang said bilateral trade between the two sides remains modest and is not on par with their existing huge potential.

He suggested Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan promote the negotiations towards reaching a free trade agreement among them to pave the way for enterprises to penetrate each other’s markets.
