Azarenka of Belarus came to the top position after defeating players including Radwanska, Clijsters and Sharapova at the 2012 Australian Open.
At the 2012 London Olympics, she won a gold medal in the mixed doubles and took bronze in the women’s singles event.
Apart from Azarenka, the tournament is expected to see several of the world’s top tennis stars, including No. 13 (female) Dominika Cibulkova from Slovakia , and two players, No. 17 Gilles Simon from France and No. 31 Feliciano Lopez from Spain .
As part of the event, the players are scheduled to meet with Vietnamese fans and play in a series of friendly matches.-VNA
