Famous Beligium jazz pianist Charles Loos will kick off the annual European Music Festival with a performance at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi Nov. 26 night.

Inspired by folklore and early and contemporary jazz, Loos’ compositions are unique in style and impossible to mimic. The jazz pianist is popular in several countries around the world, including China , the US , Brazil , Canada , Israel and Morocco .

Loos has won several prizes throughout his music career, including the “Sax Prize” for the best concert of the year in 1988, the Jazz Ralye’s prize for most creative concert in 1990 and the Django d’or in 1997.

In his debut in Vietnam , the Belgium artist will perform together with two Vietnamese special guests, jazz saxophonist Quyen Thien Dac and the up-and-coming vocalist, Tran Mai Hanh.

Loos will also perform his swing melodies at HCM City ’s Music Conservatory on Nov. 28 night.

During his time in Hanoi , he will give a lecture at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on Nov. 27./.
