President of the Belgian Senate Christine Defraigne will lead a high-ranking delegation on an official visit to Vietnam from November 1 to 8.
President of the Belgian Senate Christine Defraigne will lead a high-ranking delegation on an official visit to Vietnam from November 1 to 8.
The visit will be made at the invitation of National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, according to the NA’s Committee for External Relations.
Vietnam and Belgium set up the diplomatic relationship in 1973. Their relations have been growing remarkably over the past years, especially after Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the European country in October 2014.
Belgium is Vietnam’s sixth largest trading partner in the EU with bilateral trade experiencing a year-on-year growth of 27.4 percent to reach over 2.3 billion USD in 2014.-VNA
