The Hanoi Sewage and Drainage Co. Ltd on November 29 kicked off a Belgian-funded project to build and upgrade three sewage pumping stations in the west of Hanoi.
The project is estimated to cost 618 billion VND (29.4 million USD), with 9.8 million EUR (over 12.7 million USD) official development assistance (ODA) provided by the Belgian Government.
The project will see the construction of Co Nhue, Dong Bong 1 and Dong Bong 2 pumping stations, with respective capacities of 12, 8 and 9 cubic metres per second.
Director of the municipal Department of Construction Nguyen The Hung, said it is an important project for Hanoi as it will help prevent flooding in the areas of Co Nhue, My Dinh and Me Tri.-VNA
