Belgium’s professor honoured with insignia

cause of construction, protection and development of Hai Phong city.”
The award ceremony was held in the northern port city of Hai Phong on March 18.
On the occasion, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thanh also offered the scholar the city’s certificate of merit in recognition of the Belgian professor’s contribution to Hai Phong’s development, particularly in environmental protection.
Over the last 10 years, Prof. Doctor Luc Hens, Head of the Human Ecology Department of the university, has conducted scientific researches and provided consultation on environmental protection serving the city’s socio-economic development master plan.
He also managed environment-related projects funded by Belgium and the EC to Hai Phong city.
The professor, together with his colleagues at the Hai Phong Maritime Resource-Environment Institute, has published more than 10 publications on environmental protection in both English and Vietnamese languages./.
