The Bank of Investment and Development for Vietnam (BIDV) will lend 6,225 billion VND (about 296.43 million USD) to several BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) projects to expand and upgrade national highways and develop social housing.

A contract between investors, lenders, contractors and materials suppliers of the projects was signed on July 19 in the central province of Binh Dinh .

The Vietnam Construction Bank (VNCB) is the other lender to the projects, which have a total investment of 8,446 billion VND (about 402.2 million USD).

The BOT projects aim to upgrade three sections of National Highway 1A (km 587-649, km 672-704, and km 1212-1265); and the section of Ho Chi Minh Trail (or National Highway 14) in Pleiku; as well as build a housing complex with 1,735 apartments.-VNA
