Biggest start-up conference, exhibition opens in HCM City
The biggest and most significant conference and exhibition event for start-ups Hatch! Fair opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 7, attracting representatives from over 20 countries and territories.

HCM City (VNA) – The biggest and most significant conference and exhibition event for start-ups Hatch! Fair opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 7, attracting more than 150 start-ups, 100 investors and 80 speakers from 20 countries and territories.
The annual event, first launched in 2013, connects Vietnamese start-ups with those from Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Israel, Finland, the US and Australia through a series of seminars and round-table discussions on development and management experience, innovation in information technology, automation, artificial intelligence, Internet of things, and social start-ups.
More than 120 exhibitors are also showcasing products, services and the most promising start-up projects selected from previous contests.
Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology, said HCM City aims to become a start-up city.
Towards this goal, the city has launched a programme to support small and medium-sized enterprises in innovation, competitiveness improvement and global integration for 2016-2020.
The event, co-hosted by the municipal Department of Science and Technology and the Hatch!Programme, will last through October 8.-VNA
